CBNK … 002 SODA, POP OR COKE

Chef Blog …. Journey of a young man from my favorite city CHICAGO. Time 19 hundred & 65. Age 6. Grab me a “ POP “ from the dad garage fridge ( side note, not Refrigerator ) . From that day forward “POP” was what it is called.

Journey forward 10 years. Florida vacation, with family. I will never forget the look on the waitress face as I ordered a “POP” . You mean “COKE” ? I didn’t accually want a Coke, but a Dr.Pepper (thanks Texas).

Journey forward to California collage days. The days of California Coolers, Bartles & Jaymes cooler & Michelob (not Ultra). But to order a “POP” was sooo wrong!

In comes the California Girls. They are beautiful, therefore you listen… SOO DA. It’s like Valley meets Minnasota

I still call it “POP” but every once in awhile saying SOO DA brings back memories. Chicago card still valid.

Final evaluation, Midwest your are right “POP” , California & East Coast SOO DA (however California better accent”) … South sorry NO CLUE
